Tavistock - Aug 2017 - Barn Addition

On this project, HFH was able to seamlessly add 260’ to an existing barn. By matching all features (like the well-lit ridge design), this is not just a simple addition.

When coming up to the new barn, you first notice the large timber entrance, proudly displaying the farm’s name. Once inside, the dark stained timber stairs and railings, black ceilings with timber accents, the white walls, and epoxied floors create an amazing modern look. The large office and meeting space upstairs is a great use of space and provides a bird’s eye view over the barn.

Underneath the office space there is a large utility and vet room. Inside the barn, there are 2 new Lely robots, a Lely feed pusher, Big Ass Fans for air movement and GEA isle scrapers. A new manure pump connects to the existing liquid manure tank.

By moving the dairy cows from the old tie stall into the new robot barn addition, and reconfiguring the existing part of the barn, this facility has been brought up to the highest and most current level of dairy farming, once again.
