Atwood - Apr 2019 - Dairy Barn

On this farm, whose owners are inducted in the Stratford Perth Museums Agriculture Wall of Fame, a new barn was necessary to stay up to date.

HFH built a 70’ x 260’ robotic dairy barn with two Lely robots, while including the original milk house in the new build. One of the original robots was reused in the new barn, with one new robot and robot room being added. We added a new utility room alongside the milkhouse and upgraded all the necessary services.

This barn includes a calf pen area, bedded pack pens, and sand bedding for the milk cows.

A Lely Juno robotic feed pusher keeps the feed withing reach and a GEA aisle scraper and a pump that pumps the manure out to a new 90’ liquid manure tank. Panel fans (together with the curtain system and chimneys) make sure that this natural ventilated barn stays fresh and clean.

All in all, this is a wonderful example of how HFH works together with our customers to provide them exactly with what they need in order to run their business successfully.
