Architectural Designer (Full-Time)
As our design/drafting department continues to expand, we are searching for an experienced architectural designer with 5-7 years in the field. We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about problem-solving and understands how to translate clients’ needs into innovative designs. Priority will be given to candidates with a deep technical understanding of Ontario building practices and standards. The ideal candidate will thrive both independently and within a collaborative environment, possess a strong eye for design, and have a deep understanding of the construction process. Position Details:
- Job Type: Full-Time In-Office
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare permit and construction drawings, ensuring they adhere to best practices and local regulations.
- Develop conceptual designs using Revit and Enscape to provide clients with a clear project overview.
- Ensure all designs meet the requirements of codes, by-laws, and governing authorities.
- Collaborate throughout the design process to ensure alignment with client goals.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
- Maintain clear and open communication with all project stakeholders.
- Participate in client design meetings.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Architectural Construction Technology.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient in Revit.
- Solid understanding of the Ontario Building Code, municipal by-laws, and other governing authorities.
- Experience preparing and submitting drawings for Building Permit Applications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Comprehensive understanding of Ontario construction methods and practices in residential, agricultural, and commercial projects.
- 5-7 years of experience in an office, on a job site, or a combination of both
Bonus Skills
- BCIN qualified designer (house/small buildings).
- Experience with timber-frame construction.
- Previous on-site construction experience.
